Candidates' FAQs
Q.
Once I’ve uploaded my CV, when should I expect to hear from you?
A.

As soon as our system has received your CV, you will be sent an automatic acknowledgement so that you know your details have arrived safely. Within 48 hours after that, one of our consultants will contact you to discuss your job search.

Can I upload my CV without registering with you?
A.

You will need to register with us before you can upload your CV onto the site.

Q.
Can I apply for a job without registering with you?
A.

You need to be registered with us to apply for jobs. Unregistered candidates will be directed to our registration process.

Q.
Will I be told if you put my CV forward for any specific roles?
A.

TGSR will never send your details to an employer without your specific consent. This means that you can apply for jobs yourself without worrying that we are going to be following up the same vacancies.

How long will you keep my details on file?
A.

TGSR is governed by UK Employment Agencies legislation, which mandates that personal details are stored for a minimum period of one year

What charges apply for your services?
A.

You can register with us and receive a review of your uploaded CV and no charges will apply. If you submit your CV for a position and you are selected for interview, still no charges apply. If we find you a temporary, interim or permanent role there are no charges. We only charge candidates for our optional services such as CV Writing, or if you require more than one CV Review.

Would I be eligible for a free CV review before I’ve registered?
A.

Yes, we will be happy to review your CV, even if you’re not looking for a job just at the moment – free CV Review

Is the CV writing service only available for people registered with you?
A.

Our CV writing service is available to everyone, even if you’re not looking for a job just at the moment.

Q.
I’m having trouble uploading my CV. Do you know what the problem may be?
A.

Our site will not accept CVs if they are larger than 1MB. Employers prefer CVs not to be that big. Try and see if you can make it smaller, but remember we don’t accept pdf format. If you still have trouble, please email us and we will do our best to help.

How long should I allow after I’ve uploaded a job specification before I would expect to see some potential candidates from you?
A.

Once you’ve uploaded a specification, one of our consultants will contact you within 24 hours. You’ll have the opportunity to let us know your anticipated timescales for your recruitment, and the process you’d like us to follow.

Q.
How easy is it to change the details of a vacancy once I’ve submitted the job?
A.

Once you have registered with us, you can edit all your details, including submitted jobs, by clicking the ‘My Account’ button at the top righthandside of the screen. All the jobs you have submitted are listed here, and are straightforward to edit.

Q.
Do I need to pay to submit jobs to the site?
A.

There is no charge to submit jobs to the site, but we do charge a fee if one of our candidates is appointed to a role you have advertised with us.

Q.
Is there a charge to feature my vacancy on your home page banner?
A.

Yes, this is a classified advertising area, and charges do apply. Please contact us for a quote.

Will I be contacted by different consultants working on my role from different regions?
A.

As soon as you register, you will be assigned a consultant who is knowledgeable about your industry. This consultant will provide a single point of contact for you and will ensure that you receive a high quality of service from TGSR.

What methods do you use to source the right candidates?
A.

We use a variety of methods to ensure the fullest coverage of the available talent pool. This includes personal contact with candidates to ensure we have the fullest knowledge about their attributes and their competences. We also use the very latest search software to mine social media sources to make contact with candidates with highly specialized skill sets.

Do you handle temporary as well as permanent positions?
A.

Our business gives equal priority to temporary, interim and permanent roles. We focus on fulfilling your resourcing needs, whatever your requirements may be.

Will you headhunt specific skills or individuals?
A.

TGSR has developed a global network of contacts and uses sophisticated search software to gain access to the widest possible pool of skills and individuals. We will use our sources to identify individuals with the specific skills and experience that you need, but we won’t forget that sometimes it’s flair and creativity that are the competences you’ll benefit from most.
