Our client is delighted to have been awarded a major Highways and Engineering Consultancy contract and now are now looking to expand this team to meet client expectations and deliver a high-quality professional service, locally. 


As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Company’s delivery of major projects and this responsibility will include programming, delivery, cost control, and quality control. 

You will manage the overall input of special projects and draw on resources available within the Company and the supply chain. 


In addition, you will support the client through the scheme's delivery and identify opportunities to add value or offer innovative solutions.  Your work will be varied and reactive to the team’s priorities. 




·         Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.

·         Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.

·         Demonstrable experience of taking a lead role in a major project environment.

·         Excellent Project Management skills to deliver on time, to budget and meeting the expected quality standards.

·         Successful track record major project delivery in the highways sector – spanning full project management lifecycle – from feasibility studies through to project delivery

·         Solid experience of Highways design and Transport planning skills within Multi-discipline projects.

·        Apply your experience in building business cases and funding bids, obtaining planning consent and discharging conditions, managing Environmental Assessment, Geotechnics, and Land drainage issues and consents.

·         Demonstrable stakeholder engagement for both public and private clients.

·         Must be able to forge strong client relationships and provide advice.

·         Knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within a consultancy business.

·         Ability to work without supervision essential, you will have the drive and determination to meet targets.

·         Working in a quality assured organisation and applying quality procedures.

·         Experience in the application of the NEC suite of contracts.

·         A good knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation would be advantageous.

·         Awareness of the philosophy and practice of Health and Safety in civil engineering design and construction.




·         Lead the overall programming of the special projects workload, based on client priorities

·         Work with team leaders to manage resources to meet the agreed programme

·         Provide day-to-day support to the team and Service Framework Manager

·         Use and share your knowledge and experience to support the team's delivery of quality outcomes

·         Review all relevant documents before they are communicated for approval

·         Monitor performance and quality, and put in place steps to continually improve both

·         Be responsive to client needs and requests, and manage priorities accordingly

·         Lead the projects to align performance with the Company key values and to meet the behaviours and ethos of the contract

·         Champion Value Management / Engineering to support Project Managers in ensuring that schemes are delivered with innovation.
